My bank login URL has changed and QBO doesn't recognize the old URL

My bank changed its platform and has a new login page (URL). Of course the existing banking connection cannot login using my valid credentials as the page it's pointed to is incorrect. Sure, it would be too easy to simply edit the URL. I've been told three different things from three different phone support reps.

It almost seems that QBO support has never encountered this as there is no protocol. I find this hard to believe as this cannot be that uncommon. I'm sure it doesn't happen everyday, but for the love of god, there must be a flow chart for this kind of thing.

Has anyone encountered this and if so, what is the correct procedure. I'm getting the generic 103 code. Thanks much.

    Hi there, @xroadracer

Great day and thanks for visiting the Community. I appreciate you for sharing the detailed information of your concern.

Banking error 103 means your banking credentials in QuickBooks (QBO) didn't match with what you have on file from your Financial Institution (FI).

Since you have an existing connection and recently changed your banking credentials (username or password) on your FI's website, let's perform these steps below to fix the error. Here's how:

    1. Go to the Banking tab on the left pane.
    2. Select Banking.
    3. Locate the account that generates Error 103.
    4. Click the pencil icon, then select Edit sign-in info.
    5. Enter your new credentials and select Update.

Make sure to enter your username and password directly instead of allowing the browser to auto-fill your login credentials.

You can check this article to learn about how to fix banking error 103 in QBO: Fix banking error 103 in QuickBooks Online.

If the issue persists, I'd suggest you check other listed versions of your bank name. Refer to this help article: Identify the correct bank for more detailed steps.

Please let me know if you have any other banking concerns, I'll be always here to help you. Have a good one!

Hi Katherine. Thank you for getting back with me. The credentials are definitely not the issue as I've already followed your instructions. Believe me I've made certain the credentials are current. For sure... no question about it.

Once again, the FI completely revamped their online banking user interface and also changed the login page. Meaning, the login URL has changed.

The current bank connection points to the wrong URL for the login page.

If I "add account" and search for the same bank I can see the new bank connection. This is the new connection my FI advised me to use. Seems obvious that the solution would be to change the current connection. See attached screenshot.

    Thanks K. -Mike

We can set up the new account, xroadracer.

You can disconnect the old account and connect the new one so the current transactions will be available in your bank feeds. Disconnecting an account will remain active in QBO but it stops from getting your bank transactions. Those transactions that were in your For Review tab will be deleted.

    Here's how to disconnect:

    1. Go to the Banking page.
    2. Click the blue bank tile and at its upper-right, click the pencil icon
    3. In the Account details, click the Disconnect this account on save box
    4. Click Save and Close

Let's connect the account again using the new bank's URL. Enter your updated login credentials and follow the onscreen instructions to successfully connect it.

Once they're available in your bank feeds you can now manage them which you can assign, categorize, edit or add them.

If there's anything else that you need, you can always reach out to me.

Good to have you back, xroadracer.

Yes, that's correct. We need to disconnect your account. But, make sure that there's no pending transactions. If there's still pending transactions, we may need to add them first before disconnecting the account. You can follow the steps provided by my colleague on how to disconnect it.

Once done, we'll reconnect it using the new bank's URL.

Keep us posted if you have additional questions. We're here to help you out.

I am experiencing a similar issue. I am trying to set up my bank feed for the first time, but when I try to set it up, I get error code OLSU-1013 (which my bank told me was because they had a new URL that hadn't been updated in the QB system yet). They tried to walk me through setting up my bank feed using the URL, but I cannot seem to navigate to a page where I can enter a bank's URL. I only see a box where I can type in my bank's name. Any thoughts on how to enter the bank's new URL or is this something that needs to be done by QB? My bank communicated to me that this is a known problem and had requested the update be made by QB, but it appears it has not been updated yet. Looking for a work around so that I do not need to hand enter each transaction before taxes are due. Thanks in advance for any advise!

Hello @pcc19, may I know the name of your bank?

You can enter the new website of your bank by connecting it to the banking feeds.

    1. Go to Banking.
    2. Click Add account.
    3. On the Search address, enter your bank's website.
    4. Enter your banking credentials.
    5. Select Continue.
    6. Click Connect.

I'm adding a few references here for ideas about categorising your online transactions after connecting your bank account.

I'll be here if you need more help. Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I'm not sure why, but that is not an option on my QB Desktop. See below.

I am also having this problem.

My bank got bought out by another bank, so the login URL changed. I have followed your instructions. I've told it to disconnect on save. Then went to the existing account in my account list in QBO and told it to add an account. But when I do this, it is adding it as a new account, and not connecting it to the existing account in QBO (which has YEARS' worth of historical data).
