Hello there, dbgas12-qbt,

QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) should rotate when you turn on the landscape mode.

Your iPad rotates the screen to keep everything right-side-up as you use the device. Most apps work in portrait or landscape mode, adjusting what’s onscreen to match how you hold it.

Here's how to fix when the QuickBooks app won't rotate:

Step 1. Turn Off/ ON Rotation Lock in the Control Center

  1. Your iPad might use the side switch to turn Rotation Lock on and off; slide the switch so it doesn’t show any orange to turn it off.
  2. Go to Settings, then General to change the side switch function.
  3. Under Use Side Switch To select Mute so it doesn’t affect Rotation Lock anymore.

Step 2. Quit Every App and Restart Your Device.

The QBSE app is may be frozen. You can close it and restart your phone to iron out issues  in iOS or iPadOS.

Step 3: Log in to your QBSE account via supported browsers.

You'll want to access your account on a browser and use the landscape mode from there.

Step 4. Try Rotating the Screen in a Different App

If the screen rotates in other apps, consider the possibility that QBSE may be damaged. You'll want to uninstall and re-install the app. This is to download the latest updates and fixes.
