Upgrading plans and transferring data

Hi Screen Doctor It's not possible to upgrade or migrate the data from the self employed account to one of our small business products so you can account for VAT. Realistically the only thing you can do is export/import your invoices, we've contained a link below which explains what you can achieve. If you do want to subscribe to a small business product and would like to use the same email address as the self employed product we recommend, before subscribing to the small business account, that you login to http://accounts.intuit.com using the same credentials as you use to login to your account with, change the email address and user ID to an alternative one that you have access to, subscribe to the small business product using the original email address/user ID, ensure that you have exported all the data you need from the self employed account and then cancel it. QBSE and QBO are 2 different products. You have to open a new blank QBO account with another email address. You are not allowed to use same email address to open QBSE and QBO account.
