Question

How do I remove myself as an accountant on a client I no longer have? I've told them a dozen times to do it and they just won't.

We have a couple of clients that have left, and I am still getting subscription emails about them even though we have nothing to do with them. The only thing I can see is that we are still there as an accountant user.

Hello there, Accountant. You can permanently delete a client directly from QuickBooks Online Accountant by selecting Edit Client from the Client list and choosing the Delete Permanently option.

Before deleting, ensure the client has changed their own Primary Admin if needed, since only the Primary Admin of your QuickBooks Online Accountant firm can delete a client.

However, if you're unable to remove it successfully, two possible scenarios are causing this issue: There might be a problem on your client's end, or your client has an active add-on subscription in which you are the Primary Admin.

In this case, we can contact our QuickBooks Online Accountant live support team. They can provide you with further assistance regarding this matter and advise on how to remove you as an accountant from a client's company.

I'd be glad to help you again if you have other concerns.
