I want to delete my Intuit account, but cannot because of a nonexistent subscription.

When I try to delete my account under Data & privacy, I get the message "In order to delete your data and stop using this product, you must first cancel your subscription." I have never paid for any subscription. How can I get my account deleted then?

Hello there, Linnea. Are you using a free/trial plan? If so, this can also block the deletion of your data. You must first cancel the plan before you successfully delete the data.

Here are the steps:

  1. Open your QuickBooks account.
  2. Head to the Gear icon on the upper right of your screen.
  3. Navigate to the Subscriptions and Billing.
  4. Click Cancel.
  5. Once canceled, return to Data and privacy and retry the account deletion.

Please note: If the trial cancellations shows an end date in the future, you may need to wait until the date passes before deletions are allowed.

Please let us know how else we can assist you.
