When working on an account, the beginning balance of a credit card was entered incorrect, when attempting to enter the proper balance QuickBooks automatically enters a payment for the beginning balance, when attempting to delete the payment line it wont let me save the record

How do I fix this persistent error message. "To backup your company file, there must be [removed] bytes of space available on D:\QBBackupTemp but currently there are only [removed] bytes available. Please free up some space."   I have tried multiple times with brand new drives that have an over abundance of space and it continues to give me this same message.
