Question

can I add multiple businesses to one profile or do I need to start a new profile for every business I have to record income and expenses.

they are both LLC's and I would like to avoid paying $25/month per business if possible.

You need a separate subscription for each LLC, but you can manage both under the same login profile. Each company is a distinct legal and tax entity with its own Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Here's how you can add the other business under your current login:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks Online pricing page.
  2. Choose the subscription plan you want.
  3. When asked "Adding a company to an existing account?", select Sign in.
  4. Enter the user ID and password you use for your current QuickBooks account.
  5. In the Choose your company section, select Create a New Company.

On the other hand, you can track and categorize data from different locations, offices, regions, outlets, or departments of the same company.

@intuit_84eda73c959a One QBO account is for one company file. You can use old QB Desktop with a non subscription license to manage multiple company files.
