Question

Does Intuit call users with fraud protection about attempted withdrawals and ask for approval or denial?

I just received 3 calls in a row from the same phone number Intuit used to call me earlier after I asked for a support callback. It was an automated voice claiming it was from Intuit Fraud Prevention stating that a specific dollar amount had been attempted as a withdrawal from my account, all asked me to approve or deny by pressing 1 or 2. Was this legit? Seemed like a well-crafted phishing attempt.

Nowadays, fraud is everywhere, so I appreciate you sharing your experience with us to alert other forum participants, David.

Please be aware that Intuit will only contact you if you have specifically requested a callback regarding a QuickBooks issue. With this, I want to let you know that QuickBooks has strict policies and procedures to safeguard all of your personal data.

Please know that you can report this suspicious activity to our Security team to stop this from happening again and prevent security risks. Here's how:

  1. Go to our Privacy and Security page.
  2. Navigate to the Contact Us tab.
  3. Hover over the Security section
  4. Click the Report technical support scams button.
