Welcome to the Community, @sharonm. We are glad to have you here!
Let me guide you in creating a report that includes your labor costs under each service item. Since labor costs aren't included in the Sales by Product/Service Detail Report, comparing it to Product/Item Profitability by Customer will show the cost of the item/services you need.
Furthermore, if this relates to projects, we can search for the Project Profitability Report since it compares actual project revenue and costs to show each project's total profitability. To pull up this account, here's how:
Go to Projects.
Open an existing Projects.
After opening, choose Project Reports.
Hit View to view the report.
By following the steps mentioned above, we can witness the labor costs we need.
Thank you for the response. The Project Profitability Report just gives me a total for costs of goods sold and labor. How do I find the Product/Item Profitability by Customer report, or do I customize another report to get it?
The Project Profitability and Product/Item Profitability by Customer reports are different. To find the Product/Item Profitability by Customer report, you can search it from the Reports page. Let me guide you through the steps.
Click the Reports from the left menu.
Search for Product/Item Profitability by Customer report.
Customize it to view the information you need.
Just in case you want to save its current customization settings, you can check out this article for more guidance: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
