How do I change principal name under account settings?

Changing the principal details in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account is essential to match the real-life business record. I'd be delighted to show you how.

I have several things in mind if you mean updating the principal name. I'll share steps to ensure the correct info is modified.

Are you referring to the company name of your books? If so, please see the steps below to achieve this:

1. Go to the Gear icon and then select Account and settings.
2. Choose Company.
3. Click the pencil icon beside the Company name section.
4. Edit the Company name or Legal name.
5. Hit Save, then Done.

Otherwise, if you'd like to add a new principal officer, I suggest following the instructions below:

1. From the Gear icon, select Payroll settings.
2. From Bank accounts, select Manage payroll principal officer information.
3. Click Edit to change the principal officer info.
4. From the drop-down menu, choose the reason for the change.
5. Modify your info, then hit Save.

If you want to update the admin’s info, let's do this on the Account management page. I'll show you how:

1. On your QBO account, select the icon of your name’s initial at the top right or open the Account Management website.
2. Select Manage your Intuit Account.
3. You’ll be directed to the Intuit Account page.
4. Go to Profile.
5. From there, you can update your info.
