How to change my legal name in Quickbooks?

someone please help me change my legal name in quickbooks, i have been on hold for 30 minutes

Hi,

To change the legal name/company name in QuickBooks Online, navigate to the company cog in the top right hand side of the screen and select 'Account and Settings' under 'Your Company'. This will bring up a new window. Click on the 'Company name' section where this will allow you to edit and change the details. Be sure to click 'Save' and then 'Done' to make sure all changes are reflected in the system going forward.

You are using Desktop or Online? By legal name you mean Company Name? It would be helpfull if you could give us some more details.

I'm having a similiar problem, it won't let me delete my company name so it isn't on the 1099. It lists the legal name and company name.... and my phone number which I don't want listed.

I found this in my QuickBoo help...

Change your legal or company name and address

To do this task

Choose Company > My Company.
At the top right of the window, click the edit icon . The Company Information window opens.
To change your company name or address, enter the correct information in the Contact Information section.
To change your company's legal name or address, click Legal Information on the left and enter the correct information.
Click OK.

If you subscribe to Assisted Payroll or QuickBooks Payroll with Direct Deposit, visit Go online Payroll.com (http://www.payroll.com/support/forms.html) for forms and instructions on how to change your legal company name or address.

Click on Company, then Company information, Edit (upright corner), then you can change it.

These instructions do not work for me. When I click on edit, it takes me to a intuit help chat which is how I got to your answer in the first place. I no longer subscribe to payroll (ended 3 years ago) so what’s the problem?
