Question

I need help to find out why my accountant can't access my account when she was previously able to.

My accountant was able to access the account last year. Earlier this year I received notification she had accessed the account, then yesterday she told me she couldn't access it. I revoked her original access and readded her, and she is still getting a 'bad request' error.

Hey there, @vikki9. I appreciate you for doing some troubleshooting steps before posting in our forum. Speaking of the Bad Request error, this is a common browser issue if the request sent to the server is unavailable. This resulted in your accountant being unable to access your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account.

To fix this, let's delete the cache of the default browser to remove outdated and damaged files that cause issues.

If the issue persists, let's clear Intuit-specific cookies from the search engine to refresh website preferences that's also a root cause of the error your accountant encountered. Here's how:

For Google Chrome

  1. At the top right, select the More icon.
  2. Click the Settings option.
  3. Choose Privacy and security. Then, Third-party cookies
  4. Once done, pick See all site data and cookies.
  5. Enter “Intuit or QuickBooks” in the search field to find Intuit cookies.
  6. Go to Delete displayed data or the trash can icon.
  7. Refresh Google Chrome for the changes to take effect.

For the other browser's processes, you can check this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues.

You might also find this article helpful when changing some information about your account for better security: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

Keep us posted about you and your accountant's experience when accessing your account or if you have additional questions about managing your QBSE. I'll be sure to help you with that.
