Question

I recently downgraded from paid plan on Self-Employed to free plan but can no longer access my transactions or reports, which I need for tax. How can I access these?

Hi Katy, when you downgrade to QuickBooks Online Free (QBO Free), please note that your data does not transfer automatically, since these are different platforms. You will need to export all of your information from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and then manually import those files into your new account.

Did you happen to cancel your QBSE account before the move? If so, you will still have a year of read-only access to download your transactions and reports after cancellation. Please ensure you download everything you need, as QuickBooks will automatically delete your files after the specified time frame.

Additionally, please know that QBO Free does not include tax processing features. If you require tools to manage your taxes within the platform, you may consider resubscribing or upgrading to a higher QBO plan that better suits your needs.
