Question

My husband and I both have businesses outside our employer. Should we each have a separate self employed quickbooks account or can I join him to this account?

A pleasant day to you, @nachellebrooks.

You'll need to have a separate QuickBooks Self-Employed account with your husband as the system cannot track two businesses at the same time. However, when it comes to filing your taxes, you have the option to be a joint filers.

To set this on QuickBooks, please take these steps below:

  1. Click on the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Hit on Tax Profile under Taxes
  3. On the Marital Status section, select Married.
  4. Fill out your personal information and press on Save

Take note that, only one tax return will be accepted by the IRS per Social Security Number.
