Hello there, tboyers1.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) customizes certain features based on your organization's setup. Since your organization is a nonprofit, QBO treats customers as donors and automatically categorizes invoices as pledges, in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards.

Since you are a school billing for tuition, which is a service, you need to switch the form label back to Invoice. The direct way to do it is to edit the Custom Form Style that QBO is currently using as the default for Invoices.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Custom Form Styles.
  2. Click New style in the top right-hand corner and choose INVOICE
  3. Go to the Content tab in the upper-left of the screen, then click the top box of the preview panel to the left.
  4. Proceed to the Form names section and type in Invoice in the Invoice field.
  5. Select Done
