Hi, how can I bring a bank account to 0. I have historical data that has not been reconciled, and I want the bank balance to be correct going forward.

We want to help you clear your bank balance in QuickBooks so you can start fresh. There are several ways to do this, but it should be done with an accountant supervision.

Our goal is to make sure there are no errors with balances moving forward. First, if you have an accountant, they can assist you with creating adjusting entries to remove the register's balance. A professional help is needed for this method to get the right advise for your books.

Another option is making the account inactive, so you can add a new register. If you make an account with a balance inactive, QuickBooks creates a journal entry. This moves the remaining balance to another account. Your existing transactions don't disappear and stay on your financial reports.

You can also manually delete entries in QB. For added online bank transactions, you can still exclude and delete them using these steps:

1. Go to the For Review tab.
2. Mark the box next to each transaction you want to exclude.
3. Select Exclude from the pop-up at the top.
   

Excluded transactions are then moved to the Excluded tab, and won’t be added to QuickBooks or be downloaded again. To permanently delete duplicate entries, put a check mark on them, then hit Delete.
