When you realize that you have reconciled a transaction by mistake, don't worry. We can guide you on how to remove individual transactions from the reconciliation, ensuring that your accounts remain error-free.
If you find that your account is not balancing correctly after a reconciliation, it might be because there is an issue with the original opening balance. Another possibility is that the beginning or ending balance for the period you are reviewing was entered incorrectly. To rule out any possible errors, we suggest that you start by reviewing your opening, beginning, and ending balances.
If you accidentally reconciled a single transaction, or if it's an error that needs to be deleted, you can unreconcile it. However, before making any changes, we recommend talking to your accountant if you're unsure.
Here is a guide on how to edit and unreconciled a specific transaction:
Go to Settings ⚙, then Chart of Accounts.
Find the account that has the reconciled transaction. Then select View register.
Find the transaction. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R” in the checkmark ✔ column.
Select the transaction to expand the view.
In the checkmark ✔ column, select the box with the “R” until the box is blank. This removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
