I'm happy to present a few easy steps on how to remove accounts in QuickBooks Online.
Disconnecting/removing your account simply stops QBO from downloading new transactions from your bank. But before doing that, make sure to categorise your transactions in the For Review tab. Thus, the old data will remain in your Chart of Accounts.
Here's how:
Go to the Banking tab on the left side.
Click For review button.
Add or Match the data and follow the on-screen instructions.
All categorised transactions will be forwarded to the Categorised page and in your Register. You can always review this anytime in your account.
Once done, follow the instructions below to disconnect the bank.
Here's how:
Go to the Banking menu, then select the tile for the bank account.
Click the pencil ✎ icon, then choose Edit account info.
Select the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
Additionally, you can make the Chart of Accounts inactive so this will temporarily disappear from the list. For the complete steps, visit this page: Delete an account on your chart of account. Then if you want see it soon, you can check the Include inactive.
Please don't hesitate to leave a comment below if there's anything else you need help with. I'm always ready to help you with banking topics. Take care.
