Question

Matching expenses

After uploading an expense using the QuickBooks App, when I go to the bank transactions in the bank feed it isn't suggesting a match straight away and therefore transactions are duplicated by posting the same expense twice.

If I wait until later in the day if seems to allow me to match, is there a time delay from uploading the expense for the bank to suggest it as a match in the App?

I have checked and the expense is definitely being uploaded before the transaction being allocated on the bank feed.

Hi Liam,

There should be no time delay between uploading an expense and seeing it as a match in QuickBooks as long as the expense has been properly reviewed and added to your QuickBooks records.

Here's how to ensure the expense is reviewed and ready to be matched:

  1. Go to Receipts
  2. Select the expense receipt you uploaded under the For Review section.
  3. Tap Review and fill in any necessary information.
  4. Tap Save and close. That expense receipt is now officially part of your QuickBooks records and will appear in the Reviewed section.

Once done, go back to your bank transactions and re-match its corresponding transaction. QuickBooks should now be able to suggest a match.
