Let's click the Refresh all button to fix this unexpected behavior when connecting your bank accounts. I'll show you how.
Go to the Gear icon at the top.
Under Transactions, choose Bank Accounts.
Click the Refresh all button.
Once done, let's connect the account again. Here's how:
From the Gear icon, select Bank accounts.
Select Connect another account.
In the search box, enter the name of the bank and account type.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your account.
After that, QuickBooks Self-Employed will automatically download your recent bank transactions.
In case the issue persists, I'd suggest accessing your QuickBooks Self-Employed account via a private window. This is a good place to determine if there's an issue with the browser.
