Question

Why do I keep getting prompted by email to authorise my bank link to QB when I’ve already authorised it? I get about 6 emails a week.

You're receiving these emails because your bank periodically expires the connection it shares with QuickBooks, triggering automated alerts to re-authorize the link. In some cases, these repeat notices are caused by a sync loop or a phishing scam.

To ensure the emails are legitimate, verify that the sender address ends in @intuit.com, @e.intuit.com, @eq.intuit.com, or @eq.intuit.co.uk, and that any links lead to an intuit.com web address. Remember that QuickBooks will never ask for your password, sign-in details, or bank information via email.

Next, check your bank connection in QuickBooks for a visual indicator that the connection needs attention. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Transactions (or Accounting) menu and select Bank Transactions.
  2. Look at the blue account tile if there's a yellow or red alert banner (such as "We need you to reconnect your account").
  3. If everything looks good, click the Update button to refresh the connection and keep it active.
