To proceed, I recommend comparing the bank statement line by line to QuickBooks Online and identifying the exact amount and date of the missing charge. Once identified, use the Search field above in the dashboard to search for that amount and date range.

 

You can also access the Chart of Accounts, select View Register for the specific bank or credit card account, and search by amount and date range using the Filter icon. Sometimes a transaction exists but isn't showing up in the reconciliation screen because of a filter.

 

For a more detailed walkthrough, here's how:

 

  1. Select Bank transactions, then go to the Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account and choose View Register.
  3. Apply the filter to refine your search using the exact amount of the discrepancy.

 

If the charge remains invisible, I recommend checking the Excluded tab in the bank feed or reviewing uncategorized transactions to locate the missing charge.
