Question

Can I add my spouse to my account to be able to look at my books?

I just need my partner, who helps with my business,  to be able to open my QuickBooks account without me having to give them an access code every time.  How can I add someone to my account?  I already have my tax accountant added as an accountant.

It's a pleasure to have you here with us, srtrepsata. I see you want to add your spouse to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account.

While you can invite your accountant to review your books, the option to add another user in QBSE is unavailable. The primary reason is that the product is designed for self-employed individuals.

It appears you and your spouse share the same login details, and entering a code every time they sign in is becoming time-consuming. However, this alternative approach will ensure they can access your books.

For future reference, you might want to learn additional information on managing your business transactions, Schedule C categories, and tax payments. Kindly refer to this article: QBSE Overview.

I hope all this information explains how the product works. Best wishes to you and your partner!
