I can help correct the category of your reconciled transactions. I recognize the importance of maintaining consistency and accuracy in your financial records.
To do this, we'll have to unreconciled previous statements so they will not destroy your records. Then, correct the category and amount and reconcile it again.
In QBO, we can un-reconcile one transaction at a time. If you want to start over, I suggest contacting your accountant. They can undo the entire period at once using QuickBooks Online Accountant.
To invite your accountant:
Go to the Gear icon and select Manage Users.
Click the Accounting Firms tab, and click the Invite button.
If you prefer to do it by yourself, you can follow these instructions to undo reconciled transactions one at a time:
Go to the Gear icon, then choose Chart of Accounts.
Find the account, then click View Register under the Action column.
Review the check column. You'll see an R if the transaction is reconciled.
Click the box and keep ticking it until it's blank. It removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
Hit Save, then close your register.
Furthermore, visit this page to get more insights about unreconciling transactions. I also recommend consulting with your accountant before performing any of the steps. It's to ensure your records are in order and proper categorization.
