Question

How do I clear tax payments in my reconciliation that are for payments made and posted in the prior month that QBO is posting as paid as first of next month?

Basically QBO is debiting my accounts at end of month two business days before the payment date.  Thus I am clearing in the month before and reconciling and now payment is showing up again first of next month when QBO give payment date of 1st on new month.

Hi @liscott,

Thank you for posting here in the Community space. I can share some information that can you help you with your tax payments in QuickBooks Online.

You mentioned that QuickBooks posted the tax payment on your account. I've also checked and I can see you're using our payroll service to process your transactions.

How the system pays for your payroll taxes depends on your payroll setup. We calculate, file, and pay your payroll taxes automatically on your behalf.

I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team for any issues or changes you need to make for the posting. They can help you further review the existing payment and check the current setup of the account.

Our Customer Support Team for QuickBooks Online Payroll - Core, Premium is available from 6 AM - 6 PM PT (Monday - Friday). For QuickBooks Full Service Payroll, QuickBooks Online Payroll Elite/Premium, any time, any day.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Click Get help from a human.
  4. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you.

Each time you finish reconciling, QuickBooks automatically generates a reconciliation report for that session. I've attached a link you can visit to learn how to run the report in QuickBooks: How do I view, print, or export a reconciliation report?.

Let me know if you need more help with your reconciliation or managing tax payments. I'll be around to assist you in this public space. Have a great day.
