How do I export transactions from the new QB online payroll to an ifi file to import to QB desktop?

To send your payroll data to QBDT, you'll have to manually export your file from QBO. Then, import them to your QBDT company file. To download import kits, you can refer to this article: IIF Overview: import kit, sample files, and headers.

Before you import, I encourage you to back up your company file for future use. Then, know the IIF import limitations to smoothly execute the process. Whenever you're ready to import your IIF payroll data, here's how: 

1. Sign in to your company file as an admin.
2. Go to the File menu.
3. Select Import.
4. Choose From IIF Files, then export your IIF file.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure.
