Question

How do I record a credit card payment from a different account not linked to QuickBooks? Also, I do not want to link this other account.

Hello there, @gorety-latino-au.

Thank you for reaching out here in Community.

Let’s make sure you can record a credit card payment without linking your account to QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online gives you numerous options for recording credit card payments so you can keep track of your costs and produce accurate financial reports.

  1. Select + New.
  2. Under Money Out (if you’re in Business view), or Other (if you’re in Accountant view), select Pay down a credit card.
  3. Select the credit card, enter the payment amount and date.
  4. Hit the bank account you paid the credit card with.
  5. If you made a payment with a check, select I made a payment with a check.
  6. Choose Memo and attachments and follow the instructions on the screen.
  7. Tap Save and Close.

You can utilize this article to know another alternative way to record credit card payment. Making a payments after reconciling and matching transactions in your credit card, is also included in the article provided.
