How to match a two-part bank deposit?

Hi. We deposited $4,266.50 in checks. However, the bank recorded it in two parts:

$4,226.50

     $40.00 (this was the adjustment)

How do I match the QBO bank deposit of $4,226.50 to those two transactions?

Thank you!

Let me share some information regarding matching transactions, MATH30064.

We're unable to match two transactions to one deposit. To sort this out, you have two options. You can either delete the check and create two checks so you can match the bank transaction.

Or, you can exclude the bank deposits and clear the checks manually on your bank register.

Here's how to exclude the entries:

  1. Click Transactions.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Select the deposits, then click Exclude.

You can also check the link to learn more about excluding transactions: Learn how to exclude a downloaded bank transaction.

Get back to us if you have additional questions. We'll reply as soon as we can. Keep safe!

Thank you for your response. I went with the first option and split the payment into two checks.
