Question

I am new to QBO and am trying to connect my bank account but keep getting the message 'something went wrong try again in a few hours'.

Is it because it is the weekend, or could it be because we have not signed up for online banking? It doesn't even give the option to sign into my bank though...?

I've got troubleshooting steps to help you connect your bank account successfully in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Stacy.

First, could you please provide the name of the financial institution you are attempting to connect with QuickBooks Online (QBO)? Also, at which part of the process did you encounter the error? This information will help us determine if others are experiencing similar issues and allow us to guide you accordingly.

To answer your question, the error message you're encountering when connecting to your bank does not relate to the day of the week or signing up for online banking.

Meanwhile, I suggest clearing your browser's cache to improve the program's performance and fix any technical issues. You might also want to try using different devices or supported browsers to access QuickBooks.

In the meantime, you can consider manually uploading your bank transactions using a CSV file.

I've added this article as your reference in categorizing and matching your downloaded bank transactions: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser.
