Question

I emailed in a Receipt and it was scanned in the wrong currency - which is fine but there doesn't seem to be a place to modify the currency. Any ideas?

Your confusion ends here, @laura-louthan.

Allow me to fill you in on everything you need to know about how multicurrency works in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks depends on the currency of the bank. Once you emailed or attached a receipt with the wrong currency, the option to modify it isn't available. As a workaround, you can consider creating an expense transaction with the correct currency and manually attached the receipt from there. Here's how:

  1. Click the + New button, then select Expense.
  2. Select the vendor from the drop-down.
  3. Fill out the necessary information.
  4. In the Attachments section, attach the receipt.
  5. Click Save and close.

You might want to learn how to review and categorize your emailed receipts. Here's an article you can read for more details: Categorize and match receipt in QuickBooks Online.

Please know that I'm just a reply away if you need any further assistance emailing receipts. Have a good one.
