I just opened my QuickBooks account a week ago and my cash balance says it is -$36,000. How do I fix that?

Hello there, willow. When you see inaccuracies in your cash balance in QuickBooks Solopreneur, it is usually caused by errors in your bank transactions.

These errors can be duplicates, missing transactions, or wrongly recorded transactions. To address this, you can go to the Bank transactions page and review which transactions are causing the inaccuracies. First, make sure to hit Refresh to ensure they're up to date.

When you see duplicate transactions, you can click on the checkbox and hit Exclude. If there are missing transactions, you can add a new transaction.

Here’s how to create a new transaction:

  1. In the Bank transactions page, click New transaction.
  2. Choose whether the transaction is an Income or Expense.
  3. Input the details of the missing transaction.
  4. Select a category by clicking the Category dropdown.
  5. Hit Save.

If you see transactions that were recorded incorrectly, click the Pencil icon on the right side to open the edit window. Please note that the amount section cannot be edited if the transactions came directly from your bank feeds. In this case, exclude the transaction first and manually create the correct transaction.
