Are there any other file formats you can download from your bank?

Hi summitequipment1. When you say the file won't save in CSV format, are you getting an error while trying to save it directly in Excel? Or does the file save fine, but then throws an error when you try to upload it into QuickBooks?

If the file is saving okay but erroring during the QuickBooks upload, double-check that your CSV is formatted correctly:

  • Remove any zeros (0) from the file. Leave those cells blank.
  • Correct any transactions that display numbers in the Description column.
  • Remove the word "amount" if it appears in the Credit or Debit column header. They should only read "Credit" and "Debit" without the word "amount."

For additional tips on formatting and resolving errors with CSV files, check out these articles:

Once your CSV is formatted properly and imported into QuickBooks, you’re all set to start categorizing.
