Question

I need to import data from two bank accounts for the year 2024. Both accounts are connected (and have been although my subscription lapsed) & I can't get any of the data

You may need to manually import historical data. What file formats can you download? csv, pdf or else?

I recognize the importance of having your data in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, admin372. I'll outline the reasons why you might be unable to import your data, along with a workaround for this issue.

One reason this may be happening is that when your account subscription lapses, direct bank feeds often stop working. Although the accounts are connected, the active data download functionality is paused until the subscription is current. Additionally, this can be a bank feed limitation, where some banks only download the last 90 days’ worth of data. Since you need the data from 2024, the direct bank feed connection likely won't bring in all that historical data even after the subscription is active again.

Also, some banks may experience temporary glitches or require updates due to security enhancements or changes. Refreshing the connection between your bank and QBO can help in these cases.

Here's how:

  1. Click Transactions from the left menu, then Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the bank account.
  3. From the top-right of the page, click the Update button.

If the issue persists, it's best to manually upload your bank transactions to QuickBooks using a supported file format to enter those transactions in QBO.
