Question

If our bank transactions are cleared after the end of the m9nth, how do I allocate them in the previous month to show correct timings?

Enter the transactions using the original dates from the prior month, so your financial reports reflect the correct timing. Since your bank isn’t syncing, you can either download a CSV file from your bank website and import it into QuickBooks manually or enter the transactions individually. When adding entries, change the date to the date the payment was made or received, not when it cleared.

To add transactions one-by-one, here's how:

  1. Go to All Apps and select Accounting.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate the correct account in the list, or use the search field to find it by name.
  4. From the Actions column, select Account history.
  5. Select the Add journal entry, Add sales receipt, or Add deposit ▼ dropdown.
  6. Complete the required fields for the transaction.
  7. Click Save.

Then, you can categorize the transaction to the correct account and reconcile it using the actual bank statement to ensure everything balances.

On the other hand, may I ask which financial institution you're using? Did you see any error messages when you tried to connect? Please let me know so I can look into this further. If you have any additional concerns, feel free to share them.
