Quickbooks Desktop - Online Bank Feeds - Fifth Third Credit card does not show up

I am trying to Direct Connect my Fifth Third Credit Card to my Quickbooks desktop so I can download transactions. I can create an account and login to Fifth Third, but when it wants me to select a Fifth Third account it only shows me my Fifth Third Checking Account, but it does not show me my Fifth Third Credit Card.

I did a 30 day trail of Quickbooks online and it allows me to add the Fifth Third credit card in quickbooks online.

I am on quick books 2024 - latest version.

I tried creating a new company and still doesn't work.

Any thoughts?

I'll share some insights about setting up your Fifth Third Bank credit card in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) using Direct Connect, Falcon.

When using Direct Connect in QBDT, it’s important to confirm whether your bank supports your specific account type, such as your credit card. While some banks support other connection methods, Direct Connect requires specific activation at the account level by your bank.

Initially, you'll need to contact your bank directly to ensure the option for Direct Connect is enabled for your credit card account. They can also provide you with the necessary login credentials and details, specifically the following:

  • Customer ID and PIN/Password
  • Account Number
  • Routing Number
  • Account Type (e.g., Credit Card)

Just a heads up, some banks may charge a fee for Direct Connect. Thus, it's a good idea to confirm this when you speak with them.

Once the service is enabled, you can refer to the following steps for guidance:

  1. Open QBDT and go to Banking.
  2. From Bank Feeds, select Set up Bank Feeds for an account, and then search for and select your bank.
  3. Enter the credentials provided by your bank and follow the prompts to link your credit card account to QuickBooks.

You can also check this article for further information:  Connect with Direct Connect.

Alternatively, you can use Web Connect to manually import your transactions, or you may consider transitioning to QuickBooks Online, given that QBO seamlessly supports Fifth Third Bank credit cards.
