Question

reconciling

Here is my dilemma. I am reconciling our bank account. Our credit card bill was overpaid by $250 during the month. I put in my ending balance from our bank statement and cleared all debits and credits, I am off $250. How should I resolve this?

As long as the details you recorded in QuickBooks match what your bank received, the amount you paid your credit card (be it less than, equal to, or more than the CC statement balance) shouldn't matter in the least.

Did you record in QuickBooks what actually happened - the checks you actually wrote an the deposits you actually made? If so, then reconcile should work without issue.
