Question

The past few months our Amex Business cards haven't been properly synched into QB. Per month 7-10 days transactions will be missing but the rest are correct. Any advice?

For the past few months at least one week of transactions just does not get sent over to quickbooks. For example in July, the 1st through the 8th are complete but the 9th through the 19th are missing and the 20th to the 31st are correct. I have already tried unlinking then relinking the accounts but the missing data will not import.

I appreciate letting us know about the troubleshooting steps you've already taken to download the missing transactions, nick160.

While QuickBooks relies on the data provided by your bank, downloads can be interrupted by a few common factors on their end, such as scheduled maintenance, security changes, or pending alerts.

Because of this, the first step is to contact your bank's support team and ask if there are any alerts on your account or interruptions that might be blocking the connection.

If they confirm that there aren't issues on their end, the next best step is to connect with live support teams, especially since this has been happening for the past few months. They have the necessary access to investigate the connection with your bank and find a permanent solution.

Here's how to reach out to them:

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right-hand corner of QBO.
  2. Proceed to the Assistant tab.
  3. Type in "contact support" in the chat box and press Enter.
  4. Select Contact a human, then click Live Chat or Call me back.
  5. Type in a short description of your concern and click Continue.
  6. Choose between Callback or Chat.

In the meantime, you can manually import the missing transactions so you can add and categorize them in QBO. Check out these articles for step-by-step guidance:
