As you've seen in QuickBooks Online, sometimes the term "Closed" is used, and sometimes it's "Paid." The Paid status relates to invoices, while Closed refers to the payment transactions toward the invoice (if there are multiple). Good news, they both essentially mean the same thing. It's just a matter of different transaction types.
