When reconciling my checking account why do I not see my check numbers that were printed or hand entered

Hi there, @Ron L. Let's work this out so you can have your check numbers appear in your checking account when reconciling it in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

A possible reason checking numbers are not showing on your end when reconciling the checking account is that you haven't ticked the box for Ref no. in the Gear icon you find when reconciling the account. I'll input the steps below to help you get this sorted out. To begin, here's how:

1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
2. At the top-right menu, click the Gear icon.
3. Select Reconcile.
4. From the Account drop-down menu, select the appropriate bank account.
5. Click Start reconciling or Resume reconciling.
6. Enter the information requested.
7. Click Start reconciling.
8. On the Reconcile page, click the small Gear icon.
9. Under Edit columns, put a check in the Ref no. box.
