I know the possible reason why your running balance isn't showing, SallyP1.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you'll see different columns when you open the bank register. One of these is the running balance. This box may be unchecked. Be sure to tick the box to display it. Here's how:
Go to Transactions and click Chart of accounts.
Select View register. Then, tap the small Gear icon beside the print and export button.
Tick the box for Running Balance. After this, the column will show up beside the reconciliation status column.
I've got some troubleshooting steps to rectify your concern about the unavailability of your Running balance on your register, Ginger. I'll provide them below.
An outdated data utility could impact the platform's functionality. We can handle this matter by accessing your account using a private browser. Please refer to the keyboard shortcut keys below to proceed:
Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
Safari: Command + Shift + N
When the Running balance (Balance) is visible on the register while using the incognito mode, it verifies a data-related problem. To fix this, kindly clear your regular browser's cache and cookies. If the issue persists, consider using another supported browser.
Additionally, it's essential to reconcile your account in QuickBooks to detect potential discrepancies. Doing so ensures your entries in the platform align with your bank or credit card statement.
