Why does my TD Bank account keep disconnecting from QuickBooks Online, and how do I fix it?

I get the message "Our connection to this bank expired (350)," and I have to reconnect all three accounts every time I want to download transactions.

Error 350 happens when the secure connection between QuickBooks Online and your bank expires or stops working, which usually occurs for security reasons. Depending on your bank, you might need to reconnect every 90 days. But if your connection drops every time you try to download transactions, one of the two reasons below is almost always behind it.

Two things that prevent most repeat disconnects

  • Have one person handle all your bank connections. If more than one person at your business reconnects the same bank accounts, each reconnection can undo someone else's, creating a cycle of constant disconnects.
  • Select "All Accounts" when your bank asks which accounts to share. Do this even if you only use a few of them in QuickBooks. Skipping this step is one of the most common reasons the same accounts keep dropping.

How to reconnect your TD Bank accounts

  1. Go to Bank transactions under Accounting.
  2. Select the TD Bank account you want to reconnect.
  3. Find the error message and select Fix now.
  4. Confirm the user ID and password you use to sign in to TD Bank's website, and re-enter your bank info if needed.
  5. When TD Bank asks which accounts to share, select All Accounts, then select Save and connect.
  6. Wait for the "Connection complete and transactions updated!" message, then select Close.

Repeat these steps for each of your three accounts. It's the person who originally set up the connection who needs to re-authorize it, so if someone else has been doing the reconnects, have that original user run through this instead.

I appreciate what you've done on your end, Luis. No worries. I can help you with the troubleshooting steps and route you to the appropriate support.

Error 350 occurs when connecting your bank or credit card expires and if there's an update from your financial institution. It requires reconnecting every 90 days or every 18 months, depending on your bank. Moreover, you can check your bank's website if there are notifications that you need to confirm for a consistent connection with QuickBooks.

However, in your case, which asks you every time you want to download transactions, I recommend connecting them in a private window. Private window will prevent your browsing history from being saved.

You can use the following keyboard shortcuts based on what type of browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If this works fine from there, go back to your regular browser and clear your cache.

On the other hand, if the issue persists, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Support team. This way, they'll be able to investigate why your bank keeps on disconnecting, as they also have the appropriate tools to address your concern.

In addition, you'll want to check this article and learn how to categorize transactions uploaded to QuickBooks Online: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I'll keep an eye out in the comments if you need additional assistance managing your bank feeds. Have a good one.

Thank you MAnneJ,

I did what you suggested and it still keeps disconnecting. I'll try contacting Customer Support as you recommend.
