If you see this message while reconnecting a bank account in QuickBooks Online, it's usually a browser or connection hiccup rather than a problem with your bank account itself. A few quick troubleshooting steps clear it up in most cases.
Try these first:
- Open QuickBooks Online in an incognito or private window. This rules out browser extensions and cached data that can interfere with the connection.
- Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
- Firefox or Internet Explorer: Ctrl+Shift+P
- Safari: Command+Shift+N
- If the error clears in incognito mode, go back to your regular browser and clear your cache and cookies, then try reconnecting again.
- Still stuck? Try a different browser, like Chrome or Firefox.
While you're at it, sign in to your bank's website directly in a separate tab. If you see any notifications, new terms and conditions, or security prompts waiting there, take care of those first. An unread message on your bank's site can quietly block the connection on the QuickBooks side.
Connecting a Chase account when you're not the primary account holder
Chase only allows one QuickBooks Online company to be linked to a given Chase Online Banking ID at a time. If you're a sub-user or delegate trying to reconnect on someone else's behalf, that's usually what's really going on, not a browser issue.
To fix it, the Chase account owner needs to add you as an authorized user with your own unique Chase Online Banking ID. Once that's set up, you can reconnect using your own ID instead of sharing the primary login, and you won't need to loop the account owner in every time you reconnect.
Have a specific error code, or a different message than "this part of our site is not available right now"? Let us know what you're seeing and we'll dig into that one.
