Can I edit the false payments on my invoices?

Yes, you can edit these payments. This usually happens when QuickBooks has the Automatically apply credits setting enabled. Make sure to turn that setting off to stop credits from applying by default.
 

To edit the invoice payment, follow these steps:
 

1. Open the invoice linked to the incorrect payment.

2. Uncheck the invoice and manually add the amount in the Amount received field above.

3. Click Save.

4. A prompt will appear that says, You didn't select any invoices. Click Save as a credit.

5. To save the transaction, click Yes.
