The client has established a bank feed for his business current account but was unable to establish the link for the business credit card with Bank of Ireland also. Any suggestions?

We recognize the urgency of having your business credit card with Bank of Ireland connected in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Barry.

We can sign in to your bank's website to check if there are issues with your financial institution. This helps us verify if there are notifications from their end that need attention causing the banking connection issues in the program. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu on the left panel.
  2. Click Link account. Note: You won’t add an account, you need the listed URL.
  3. Search for your bank and select it. Then copy the URL listed for your bank.
  4. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website using the copied URL.
  5. Look for any display issues as you navigate the website. Also, check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.

If you can sign in, it's a good signal that there isn't a major issue. Once done, review the following details below to check any messages. Here's how:

  1. Check your account for messages, notifications, or alerts.
  2. Look for any display issues as you navigate the website. These can block QuickBooks from connecting with your bank.
  3. Check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.

Then, try connecting your bank account again in QBO. If you're unable to find your bank in the search results, this article will guide you through the troubleshooting steps: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking in QuickBooks Online.

If the same thing happens and you have tried all the options matching your bank's name and still can't connect, or if your bank doesn’t appear, we can request support for your bank. Here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions and select Bank transactions (Take me there).
  2. Select Connect account.
  3. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks is unable to find your bank, you will get the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported providers".
  4. Enter your Account provider name and Account provider sign-in URL and choose Request.

In the meantime, you can still manually upload your bank transactions to QuickBooks if you're still unable to connect your bank account.
