QuickBooks is displaying 'Error 103 - .Username/password not working', even though the credentials haven't changed

Since we cannot see their live system status from our end, we cannot determine if there is an ongoing outage between QuickBooks and Absa Bank.

Have you checked the Absa Bank website for any alerts or notifications? One reason Error 103 occurs is that changes to bank security block QuickBooks from connecting.

If the bank website has no alerts, we can try refreshing the connection. We use these specific steps because they clear out outdated data paths and force a brand new connection between the two systems:

  1. Use an Incognito window to sign into QuickBooks. This helps prevent problems caused by old data in your browser.
  2. Then, go to My Apps; it'll route you to the Bank Transactions page. Select the Absa tile, click the Pencil icon, then select Edit account sign-in to target and update this specific bank link.
  3. Clear the saved boxes completely, then manually type your username and password to wipe out corrupted data and force a fresh connection handshake with Absa.

If the connection stays broken, you can download a CSV statement from Absa and upload it manually to QuickBooks. Later, you can exclude those transactions from the live feed to avoid duplicates.

Let me know if you need anything else; I'm always here to help.
