I'm here to help you connect your bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you can monitor your transactions and keep your account updated as soon as possible.
Before we start, did you receive any error messages while connecting to your HSBC bank account? This way, I can provide the exact resolution about it.
Sometimes, when you find your financial institution in QuickBooks Online, you will see various bank names. If you haven't tried the other options matching your bank's name, then let's do that to see if you're able to link the account.
Here's how:
Go to your bank's website and log in to your account.
Copy the URL located at the address bar of your web browser.
Log in to your QBO account.
Choose the Banking tab and click Link account.
Paste the URL and click the name.
Enter your sign-in credential and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you're unable to see the specific bank after copying the URL, I'd recommend sending request support to your bank if you haven't attempted it yet. Let me show you how.
In the Choose an account to link page, click the Still can't find your bank hyperlink.
I'd also encourage you to visit our blog frequently so you'll be guided with newly released features and banks.
In the meantime, you’ll want to manually upload your bank transactions to your account. Let me guide you how:
Sign in to your bank website and follow the instructions on how to download your transactions as a comma-separated value (CSV) file.
Go to the Banking tab on the left side.
Click the Link account drop-down and choose Upload from a file.
Tap Browse and pick the data.
In the QuickBooks account field, select the account you want to upload the transactions into and click Next.
Review all the fields, then tap Next.
Click Let's go to complete the process.
Once done, you can now categorise those transactions to ensure there are no duplicates and reconcile them. For more details about the process, check out this page: Manually upload transactions.
Additionally, I've attached some articles that might help you fix some CSV issues.
The message you provided has been explored quite long back. QBO Team had promised to sort this out few months back. The issue is the HSBC bank URL is not listed in your list of banks. If you have time please reach out to me over phone. Let me explain the whole story. I am only hoping your intervention will help resolve the issue. Thanks
I do appreciate your time coming here for support.
If you already followed the send request support steps, the process still depends on when your bank will allow the connection. Since we're unable to do a callback here for security reasons, I'll share the steps below on how you can talk to our chat or phone support. They have the necessary tools to investigate the issue further.
Here's how:
Click the Help icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
In the Help window, click the Contact Us button located at the bottom.
Enter your question and click Let's talk.
Choose either Start a chat or Call us.
If you have the new QuickBooks Assistant help update, you can follow these steps:
In your QuickBooks Online account, go to the Help > Assistant.
Type Talk to a human and proceed with I still need a human.
Click the Contact us link.
Select either Messaging or Callback.
You're always welcome to come back here if you have other questions or concerns. Take care and stay safe!
