Question

Wanted to remove the auto-sync for my banking account but instead it removed the whole bank setup. How can I get it back? Can QB restore my account before the mistake?

Let's help you restore your bank setup, @rizqeenrentals.

First, when you mention that your entire bank setup was removed, are you referring to the disconnection of your bank in QuickBooks Online (QBO)?

If that's the case, you can reconnect it by navigating to the Bank transactions menu and selecting Link Account. Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your connection.

Please note that once your online banking is disconnected, the transactions that have already been categorized, matched, or reconciled will remain in your records. However, any transactions that were in the For Review tab will be deleted by QuickBooks. To avoid duplicates, set the download start date to the day after the last transaction you successfully added to your records when you reconnect.

Please keep in mind that when you connect your online bank to QBO, it will automatically download transactions, helping you keep your bank feeds updated.

If you prefer to manage your transactions manually and don't want them to sync automatically, you can choose to add transactions to QuickBooks manually instead of connecting your bank. This way, you can select which transactions to include. You have the option to upload either an account statement from your bank or a list of transactions.

Additionally, please be aware that QBO doesn't have a one-click "restore to previous date" feature to undo the entire bank setup process. Your accounting data is saved automatically as you work, and there's no straightforward backup file to revert to.
