When matching our money in bank transactions, some transactions we entered are not appearing when we try to find match. We tried customer support but they had no solution

Hi there, @Chris-Graupner 👋 Thanks for posting in the Community. If you’re not seeing your manually entered transactions when trying to match bank transactions, this usually comes down to how QuickBooks creates match suggestions. Let's go over how matching works and why suggestions may not appear.

How matching works in QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks can suggest matches when the amount and date range line up.

• Matching looks at transactions within 90 calendar days before and 20 calendar days after the downloaded bank transaction date.
• The amounts must match exactly.

How to manually review and match transactions

1. Go to All apps, then Accounting, then Bank transactions (Take me there).
2. In the Categorize or Match column, look for a suggested match. Then, select the transaction (or expand the row) to review the details.
3. Review the transactions listed under Match suggestion.
4. Select Post once you’ve confirmed it’s the correct match.

Note: You can use filters to narrow results by date or description to help find the transaction faster.

If the suggested match isn’t correct, select Find other match to search manually.

Why you may not see any match suggestions

You won’t see match suggestions if:

• The amount differs, even slightly, due to fees or discounts.
• Multiple payments were deposited as a group, but entered individually in QuickBooks.
• The transaction date falls outside the 90 days before / 20 days after matching window.
• The manual transaction has already been reconciled. Once reconciled, it can’t be matched and should be excluded instead.
