When editing your currency settings, did you also check or enable the Multi-Currency box? This may have caused the home currency to revert and lock automatically, as it cannot be changed once Multi-Currency has been enabled, and once turned on, it cannot be turned off.

If your account is 60 days old or less, you may opt to purge your data to reset your company. Otherwise, the most reliable option is to create a new company with the correct home currency set from the start.
