Question

How do you handle more than one business using QB? I have one business with QB but am starting another - do I need a whole new QB account?

One QBO account is for one company file. You can use QB Desktop with a one time license to manage multi company files if required.

Hi info-blackfaldma,

Welcome to Community!  It's great to hear that you're getting ready to start another company with QuickBooks Online.  As mentioned by Fiat Lux - ASIA, you will need to set up a separate company file, to ensure all associated business data is accurately applied to the revenue agency associated with your Business ID number.

I also suggest reaching out to our QuickBooks Online Sales Team, so they can review and discuss your eligibility for product discounts, associated with multiple QuickBooks Online Companies.  Feel free to contact them at 1-888-829-8589.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out, if you have any other questions.  We'd be happy to help!
